View Map of 218 Nature and Game Reserves In South Africa

Google earth has been used to create an interactive map showing all the game and nature reserves in South Africa (218). This map makes it easy to plan an itinerary since it pinpoints exactly where the reserve is located.

The image below shows the kind of detail that can be explored using Google earth. By clicking a place marker a pop up window is displayed which proves basic information about the reserve. In the image below (low resolution to speed up download of the web page) I have clicked the Addo Elephant Park as an example.

South Africa's Natural World

It is not surprising that given the magnificent and varied scenery, topography, climates, and geological history that South Africa has a great many and different natural heritages. These are available to a large extent to the public at large.
These Game and Nature Reserves are spread across the whole country and the list is shown below. I have identified those belonging to the National parks Board of South Africa. The majority of the others fall under the control of the respective Provincial Bodies.
