According to KNP records, the construction of the Berg and Dal camp at the site on the Matjulu Spruit in the Malelane Mountain Range was conceived during a 1980 1985 plan to increase tourism facilities in the Kruger National Park.

HIV/Aids Awareness Campaign kicks off in Kruger National Park A HIV Aids Awareness campaign kicked off in the Kruger National Park today (February 21, 2005). The campaign will take the form of a roadshow with performances by the cast of SABCs topical comedy show Emzini We Zinsizwe at all of the KNPs major camps, including Punda Maria, Shingwedzi, Mopani, Letaba, Olifants, Satara, Lower Sabie, Crocodile Bridge, Berg-en-Dal, Pretoriuskop and Skukuza.
The Kruger National Parks Executive Director Dr Bandile Mkhize signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of the KNP with representatives from the Community Public Private Partnership Programme (CPPPP) and the Tourism Enterprise Programme (TEP) today (Wednesday February 16, 2005).

The Executive Director of the Kruger National Park (KNP), Dr Bandile Mkhize took delivery of two donated buses for its Take Kruger to Kasie Project today (Friday February 4, 2005). The two specially equipped Mercedes Benz Sprinter training buses have been donated by Shell South Africa via the voluntary organisation, the Honorary Rangers.
